    LT-2000 EX Alarm

We are waiting for the techs to come in but just wondering what the problem is that we have incurred.

    1151-20 Alarm A MCS Exception processing SPDL-1 400 '#13'.

As for the boards in the back the P1 is flashing C1 and AA and the U1 is flashing E.1 and 13.

Anytime I turn the main spindle on or MDI a M110 it alarms out, When turning it on I need to home out the Y axis on the upper spindle also before I can index the turret. Seems to be off about .030.

The sub spindle turns without any problems.

    Thanks in advance.

That is pointing to a drive problem like you say. Since the machine is not that old I would check the cable connections and the board "seating". It is much more likely that you have a bad connection than a failed drive unit. Of course do this with power off, but when testing after a fault you will need to power down and let the machine sit with the breaker off for a few minutes to ensure that the drive has bled off all the capacitors and reset properly. It may not fix it, but I've had it work several times for me saving me thousands. I even had one of the chips on the board not seated in it's socket properly one time that fixed the problem once it was re-seated.

    Best of luck,
Experience is what you get just after you needed it.

hy ... i also meet half of this problem : on Y lathe, every morning, i needed to move turret up a bit on X, so to index

X limit changes with Y, so, if encoder loses position over night, than machine will believe that is under upper limit ... really small difference : 0.001 ... 0.003

solutions in my case : M66 ... ask me how i solved this before being aware of M66 - it was a messed up code

It was the main board that went out in the back. Kinda sucks with the machine only being a little over 2 years old, but were up and running pretty quick.
