Got to the Thursday morning, turned the computer on and the screen said NO OPERATING SYSTEM FOUND.

Took it to a computer store and he said the motherboard was fried. I had a old PC in my office on Vista so I got him to install the parallel port on it. I loaded Mach3, set it up, NO movement . Does this driver test look Iike it is going to be able to run on this system

It may not run smoothly, but you should still be seeing movement. Chances are that you have the wrong port address.

The other thing to check is how the parallel port is set up in BIOS. It should be in EPP mode. And you need to be running a 32-bit version of Windows. But add-in parallel ports don't always work, whatever you do - I've had about a 50% success rate with them.
