I would like to use one of the stepper motors to control a ballscrew. Here are the things I will need to use it:

1. Control Speed of the motor
2. Control the steps. So if I press a button forward once it will only move certain amount.

Doesn't have to be precise. Not for CNC. Just to move an object mounted to ball screw.
What do I need to achieve that?

Basically a stepper driver and its power supply.
An electronic device (computer, Arduino, Raspberry PI, etc) to provide an x-count of step pulses per push button.

The pulse test option for our BOB PCB does exactly that. The button click moves the motor one step, a press currently moves the motor forward (or back) 15 steps. Or if you hold the button it will start running continuously.

Note there are other components necessary to build the kit (the PCB, cable, power regulator, etc...) It is, also, a KIT... you solder it together.
