    help with Delta VFD-M

    Since I posted this I found a youtube video that shows someone setting the parameters on a delta VFD-M at 1.5 kw and mine is a 2.2 kw. Does anybody know what parameters I need to change for mine? Hi- I just wired my Delta VFD-M to my 220 volt spindle. I see that there are many parameter settings and it says that they are set at the factory but some have to be set by the user depending on what spindle you are using. Can anybody tell me which of these parameters I need to change from the factory settings? Thanks

    I will not be able to help with the wiring or parameter settings, but you need a little more info included. What spindle do you have?
    What problems are you having that the default parameters will not do?

    Hi Lee- thanks for the reply. The spindle I have is Chinese I believe. I purchased it from UGRA. Its a 2.20 kw/ 220 volt spindle. The problem I'm having is I watched a youtube video and set my parameters exactly like the video then realized the motor in the video was only 1.5 kw and I can't find the parameter to change for my spindle (2.2kw)

    I am not certain, but it may not have that parameter.
    If the VFD is sized accordingly, the actual rating of the spindle might not be critical.
    Have you had to turning yet?

    I haven't because I thought I might damage something if I started it and a parameter was set wrong. When I first wired the VFD to the spindle it rotated very slowly and I couldn't increase the speed. Since I set the parameters it doesn't spin at all

    Good thinking I wish everyone did this, yes you can damage the spindle if your settings are wrong

    Your VFD and any VFD is never set ready to Run, unless the supplier has preset the Parameters for you, which some times is the case

    The main thing is you know what the Frequency of the Spindle is it 400Hz 300Hz, Amps we can work out Voltage we know number of poles we know, this is the only important information you need as these numbers are what have to be set in the VFD

    Even though there are lots of Parameters that you see in the VFD, there are not many that you need to change

    This will get you running, do the RESET First then set the Parameter in this list, some are Default so don't need changing, I will check if there is anything other Parameters to change later today, just take your time, it's quite easy once you get to understanding the keyboard

    Mactec54
    Pr.76=10 ( This is for Factory RESET )

    Pr.00=00 ( 04 for Pot use )

    Pr.01=00

    Pr.03=400

    Pr.04=400

    Pr05=220v ( Default )

    Pr.10=10 ( Default Adjust to suit Acceleration )

    Pr.11=10 ( Default Adjust to suit Deceleration )

    Pr.24=01

    Pr.26=100

    Pr.27=100

    Pr.37=100

    Pr.52=9 ( Max Amps )

    Pr.148=02 ( Number of Poles )

    ( Auto Tune After these Parameters have been Set )
    Pr.103=02 ( Auto Tune )

    Thanks- I did those changes but I have 2 questions- Pr.00=00 (04 for Pot use) What is pod use and do I have it? the other question is Pr.08=20 when I put that number in it said ERR or error and wouldn't accept that number. Thank you again for your help i really appreciate it.

    The pot is the knob you turn on the front where the Keypad is, if you don't have it then leave it at Pr,00= 00, some the Pot will still work when set at Pr.00=00 if it does not work then change it to Pr.00=04, the Pr.08=20 can also left at the ( Default Pr.08=1.5 ), this setting is reliant on other settings, so just leave it at default, it won't affect how it will run, I will remove the Pr.08 from the list, it made an error because another parameter needs to be set also, and you don't need the other parameter set

    I added another Parameter to the list, I'm not sure if you got it or not, this is an important Parameter, Pr.52=9 this is the Amp setting, once you set this do the Auto Tune again

    Which parameter did you use for the Pr,00=00 or 04
