Question I need help with HIWIN rails

    Hi,

I'm building a new CNC machine for my personal use, outside the comercial range. The problem that I'm facing appears when it comes to the axis, since I don't have a big budget and I can only use 1 HIWIN rail, being the rest just supported circular rails, but I don't know whether to use it on the X axis or on the Y. Does it make any difference?

    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

Hi, all depends on the size of the height of your, rail and round rails if I'm correct. Seems that there is a difference of what you may want to do. Have you designed you z axis yet as this could be used for your z, if you have.... enough room. Otherwise I need a little more of what you really have, and what you want to do??
