    Milltronics VM-20

    The machine keeps shutting down, goes to DOS screen, and says to power down and restart. This has been happening for a while and gets worse as the (not-air conditioned) shop gets warmer. The error code is 190. It has been suggested that the control may be over heating and we need to cool the computer. Shop temp is 88 degrees F. today. Any other ideas or confirmation?

    Open the door to the magnetics panel and get a fan to blow air on the inside. Check all the fans to be sure they are clean and running. If this is a Cent 5-6, pull the cover off the card cage and check on the processor fan and the power supply fan.

    Otherwise, just convince the boss that a more comfortable shop is a more productive shop.
