I am new to CNC and was wondering if people out there had some insight on their favorite CAD / CAM Software for cabinet work and other woodworking projects.

A lot of router users doing general woodworking use one of Vectric's programs.
Cabinet specific software can range from $250 to tens of thousands of $$. I use a custom AutoCAD macro for my cabinet work.

I use Alphacam 2016R2, great program, just expensive, if you can write in or learn to, vba, it really makes thing so much faster. i have written programs to draw counter tops, cabinets including doors and drawers, just input your sizes
and in a second all parts for that cabinet are drawn. its a lot of work programming but in the end, definitely worth it, i dont know about other because Alphacam is all i have ever used. if you do a lot of cnc work its probably worth the cost.
