    Non-Tormach PathPilot users in Australia

    Hey guys,

I am setting an Optimum BF 46 Vario and running pathpilot.

It will be an upgrade from the old mill which I will sell.

I would like to control other things with it, like a secondary high speed spindle, spindle cooling pumps, etc.

It means I have to hack it some what.

Is anyone out there doing this?

I'm actually thinking about this for a lathe conversion that I'll have to finish off one day. I had a Tormach running Mach 3 and recently sold it. A friend bought a new one running pathpilot and it's a real step up from Mach. How do you go about getting the control/card and software?

The IO card is from Mesa in the us, the software you order from Tormach, and I am still in the process of making it all work.

have a look at this link.
PathPilot on Non-Tormach Wikia - Wikia

Its not a process for someone who has no computer skills by the way.

I am looking for the 5i25 card on the mesa site and not finding it. Is that the right part number? Can anyone supply a link?

    Here it is.

Dude, it took 3 seconds on a google search. If you had trouble with that then this is way too hard for you.

You will also need a corresponding breakout board.

Like I said, this is not a "hey what do I do next" problem resolution workflow. This IS major brain surgery. Not user friendly and not something someone can phone in "how to defuse the bomb" on. You will need to do alot of reading. It is not a find the bits to buy, get home and plug them in project.

If you do this you are about to design your own controller. This is the easier way, the harder way is go to university for 5 years.

In other words there is the hard way and the very hard way. This is just the hard way.

    Good luck.

Thr Wiki link says 5i25 5"i" as in India not 1 as in one. On their site I did find the 5125, but was not sure if it was the same.
