I have drawn up and imported the solid in the attached to use as a Final project for my advanced Mastercam class. I WANT it to cut the inclined plane of the pyramid face using the hole as the boundary. I will follow the roughing with a minimal step over ball nose to get the surface quality I want. It does it BUT cuts down to the origin plane on the sides of the pyramid. How do I make it understand I want the side of the pyramid to be the cutting plane
All I have to pick is surface because that's all that came from the .igs file out of Catia.
I'm sure I left some info out, Ill try to explain it best I can

select the face that you are going to machine, create surface from solid, extend each edge of the surface until they are outside of you hole boundary as see from the tool axis, reselect that surface for machining, regen

if you already have just surfaces leave out surface from solid, surface menu, extend - probably trimmed edges

And that did the trick. Thank you very much.
Side note. X8 Home Learning Edition seems to not like check surfaces. I had to pick all of the surfaces as drives or all hell would break loose with the tool path.
