ProTuner connection - Can't select correct COM port

I'm trying to connect from ProTuner on a Windows 10 laptop to an ACS606 servo driver. I'm using the USB-to-RS232 cable (USB to RS232 Converter Cable with DB9 Connector) and the RS232 cable (RS232 Cable for Tuning Leadshine Stepper/Servo Drive), both from AMT.

I've connected the USB-to-Serial cable and installed the latest drivers. Checking Device Manager shows me the USB Serial Converter on COM13. That's all good.

Starting ACS pops up the Communication dialog box to let me select the Serial Port. However, the drop-down list only shows ports from COM1-COM12. Not COM13. That's not good. It isn't giving me the option to select the right serial port.

Any suggestions as to how can I fix this?

Re: ProTuner connection - Can't select correct COM port

I've found a way past this problem - I changed the port number of the USB Serial Converter (How to change the COM port for a USB Serial adapter on Windows 7 | Plugable). I happened to have COM1 free, so that's where it now sits. With that change, ProTuner now controls the driver and motor.

So it appears that ProTuner can only use COM ports from 1-12 and you need one of those ports free.
