    Spindle Moulder Head 5083 Alloy

I have found that it is easy to create your own spindle moulder cutter profiles. You can cut any profile out of thin material with your CNC router and a toolmaker will put the material into his copy machine to make the blades to suit.

Now I have a question about spindle moulder heads. I have a bunch of 5083 alloy plate. Some of it is 35mm thick.

Question. If I was to have my own blades profiled out, would 5083 alloy be a suitable material to hold the blade? I have attached a picture of a head I have here which is the same way I would insert and hold my blades. I am just wondering if 5083 is an ok material to use for this because its easy to machine in the lathe and I have some.

    Regards
    Boyd
