    Z Axis Moves After Shut-Down?

I just finished the Standard 2448. So far, everything is working pertty well. But, yesterdy, I shut everything down... and then, after I turned off the "box" (I bought the pug and play electronics package), the Z Axis moved down. Quite a bit and under power. I'v seen that twice. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Tony

    Hi Tony,

I just sent you some email. When the control box is off, you no longer have power to your z axis. It sounds like your axis is mechanically back-driving when the motor is not holding it up -- I sent you some tips on tightening your bearings to add a little friction to the system.

    Best regards,

Thanks. I'll check the email. Appreciate the help.

Can't say how relieved I was when my first square was pretty darn square and the first circle was pretty darned round! Very exciting! working on dust collection now. Waiting on a piece of acrylic to make a shoe.
