    Unwanted vibration

    Hi there.

I'm currently cutting out 120mm circles in 25mm ply and ive started getting vibration which starts at around 3/4 of the way around the circle and end when circle is complete. 7mm doc, 6mm up cut compression spiral. Any ideas? Could this be incorrect backlash comp? No signs of backlash in the cut itself.

    Thanks

Vibration in the plywood, or the tool?
If the cutout portion of the plywood is not held in place, it may vibrate a lot.
Never used backlash comp, and wouldn't recommend it. If the tool has to stop and make corrections, it could easily grab the plywood and cause vibrations.

routers often have stiffnesses that are not symmetrical in every direction, and change with the Z axis height and location of the X and Y axis.
