    5 Axis simultaneous part needed

Looking for someone who has 5 axis simultaneous capabilities to machine this part. Our shop has a 5 axis machine but does not have simultaneous capabilities. Attached is a photo of the part. PM me with an email address and ill send you a 3d model.

If our late with full c axis and live tooling was running that is how I would do this. Not sure why I felt the need to tell you that...

Re: 5 Axis simultaneous part needed

Is the problem in your 5-axis mill itself, or the limitations of the CAM software you're using with it? If the machine is capable of simultaneous 5-axis milling, you might think about investing in software which would unlock its potential, and allow you to do these parts yourselves. VisualMill Premium is a full-featured 5-axis CAM program that's surprisingly affordable, given its capabilities, and we offer a generous discount on it. If you purchase it, Mecsoft will configure a post for your machine for no additional charge.

Static is right. This part could be run on a lathe with live tooling. What kind of quantity are we looking at?

Edit: We have three of those.

First order would be for most likely 5-10. If they are good quality, and meet tolerances then this job could go into production quantities.

    Material, *size*, accuracy tolerances ?

Any hard features, concentricity, TIR readings needed, etc ?
Or does it need to "look good".

What kind of ballpark pricing are You aiming for ?

If its a handle for a widget 4" in alu, making it with 5 axis is likely to be easy, but maybe uneconomical.
In steel, same, but might cost 2-3-8x more.

When do You wish to get the samples ?

Informing the makers of these usually makes Your results and Your costs go way down.

Looks like a great part to do in 3D printing with a resin-cured machine (not SLA) as well, if that would meet the product needs. Potentially a cast part if you need higher production quantities down the road. If the numbers get over 500 or so, a low volume injection mold could be in order...
