    Fanuc drives retrofited

I am currently starting a retrofit on a large Matsuura CNC mill

We will use Camsoft, the mill was previously controled by a Fanuc 6m.
We want to keep with the originals brushed Fanuc/Getty DC brushed motors they use encoders, not resolvers.
Fist I fear to use the curent Fanuc dc servo drives beside using the conventionals -10+10 volts signal they seems to need an analog signal that was comming from the controler.
I wonder if some people on this forum have some knowledge of those Fanuc DC drives?

Aslo maybe some could have good suggestion for inexpensive replacement drives that will work well with a Galil controler?

    Thanks

Camsoft (Galil) in fact do use the ±10vdc analogue to control the drives.
    What model are they?
Usually Large DC drives and Inexpensive, do not go together. A-M-C have ones that go up to 100amps peak current.

    Thanks Al for the reply

On my side I just found this thread with exactly the good response for the Fanuc DC drives. I may try this way but I am still reluctant to use 20 years old electronics.

New Control on Fanuc DC Servo

About the replacement drives they need to be around 100 Volts at 30 Amps continuous.
I am not near the machines to gives the exact numbers but this is a good ideas of the values.

100A25's are 50amp cont. up to 250vdc. You need a high capacity DC supply to go with them.

These questions relate to DC brush motor (yellow cap) Fanuc.
Will the Fanuc amp accept command signal the Galil send out? (I would think so)
Does the Fanuc amp require tach feedback? ( I would like to not have this)
Will the Galil read the Fanuc pulse coder? (This would be a BIG PLUS if it can)
    Thanks Drew

Ok I found the thread refered to above with Google (didn't show up with form search )

Still would like any input on the Fanuc amp/pulse/motor.
    Thx Drew
