    Part Damage

    Hello all,
I am new to mastercam and I tried to machine a marble part using mastercam
    And stl file.
The tool center which is not cutting, hit the marble and broke it.
I think the problem is that I used tool in mastercam as End mill, but clearly it is not.
But I don’t know what tool I must choose from mastercam tool manager which is similar to the one I have.
The tool I have has 5 mm cutting length 85 mm diameter.
Toolpath area roughing, 3 mm cut, 1.5 mm (add cuts)
What solution I have to continue this part?
Which tool I must choose which corresponds to the one I have?
Are any settings in toolpath that will help?

    Please see pictures.

    Thank you

That is very similar to a face mill. Try using that and adjusting the dimensions and corners to look like your tool.

What it looks like to me is there is a problem somewhere else in your programming. Even if the geometry of the tool is correct you will still have a problem with it plunging.

It would be better to do a helical entry instead of a straight plunge.

I am not sure if the geometry of what you are cutting will allow a big enough helix radius to match your cutter. The entry helix radius needs to match the inside radius of the cutting portion of the tool (The radius on the inside of the cutting edges). If you can't achieve this with the constraints of your tool and geometry than you need a smaller tool or to open up the geometry.
