Unhappy fanuc 3t problem ( ALARM 2 VDRDY OFF )

This alarm usually happens when i power up in the morning on an old citizen sliding head machine. I know its and old machine and shouldn't still be in service but it is still unbelievably accurate so i cant scrap it. When i get the alarm the turret usually drops in the x axis. I have had this problem before and called a fanuc technician and his answer to every problem is a new motherboard. If anyone can assist me in this matter or even if this has happened to your control i would greatly appreciate your respone.

    thankyou.

The VRDY is the signal from the servo drives, if you lose power or a feedback connection you will get it, check all the cables and power at 3 & 4 of the drives.
If it is a slant bed lathe, the X axis is probabally dropping due to brake or hydraulic latch is slow coming on after the drives turn off.
This is to stop the Turret from back feeding down whith power off.
BTW when was the last time the servo/spindle brushes were checked?
