i started with mill parts on lathe, thus i learned milling on a lathe before turning

live tool axis ( M ) is weak, so lathe_cutting_specs were low

now, we craft same parts on a mill, since we have one

i put a 200mm manual ( clasic ) chuck on the mill, and the part was rotated inside the chuck, even if " mill_cutting_specs x 2 = lathe_cutting_specs "

so, i took a 300mm chuck, and grip was better, and now " mill_cutting_specs = lathe_cutting_specs x 4 ", and i am sure i can improve

question : is a "300mm clasical chuck" delivering same power as a " 250mm cnc hydraulic " ?

i have really no idea, thus i decided to buy a "grip force metter"; like this, i think i will be able to configure chucks for the mill, because i intend to order a "custom one"
