    Question Gibbscam help

if I was to bore a piece of material from say 18 inches to 20 inches and it already had a 18 inch hole in the stock. How in the world can I draw that stock with
an 18 inch hole already in the stock? thank you

Just draw a 9" radius circle, select the center point of where you want to place the circle, and hit the circle button, what version of Gibbs do you have 2 D or 3D

2016 2D on the lathe. when I run a simulation it doesn't show a hole already there so my toolpaths don't compute

Ok then here is a guess, I don't have Lathe only mill, go to plug-in's then select Misc then select Stock Wizard in the stock Wizard you can select for a round part OD then Next you can select the ID plus do the thickness of the part

For some reason when I try that it doesn't seem to draw the part with a hole already in it. leaving all the rough pass paths from x0 to x18 to be cut

Try this with your geometry just select the 18" circle and the 20" circle then it should only machine the area that you need

"so if I create another workgroup and call it stock"

I believe that method would only work if you want to make stock without holes/pockets in it.

I would create a solid part that represents your stock, then right click it. Under properties, select 'Stock' for body type.

I don't know if this makes any difference, but you only have 2D package, is the C-axes Lathe supported with the 2D package, you may want to select the horizontal Lathe it may make no difference but it's something simple in the setup that is not working for you
