    Z axis way cover

I ripped my Z axis way cover when a part came free of the vise and spun around on a drill bit.
My machine is nearly new and the cover was far from worn out, so I want to attempt to fix the tear.
The tear is on just one panel of the bellows and does not cross any seams or folds.
My first attempt was to wipe the area clean with alcohol and stick two pieces of silicone rescue tape together from each side. Okay dumb idea.
I washed the entire cover with simple green soap and set it out to dry.

Does anybody know of an adhesive that will stick to that shiny plastic?

If it was me, I would use what in the military we called "EB Green" or "EB Red" duct tape (used by Electric Boat to temporarily hold anything on a submarine).

Search for "3M Performance Pro Duct Tape 8979" or "TapeCase 8979 Duct Tape". Amazon carries it. You can get it in black. Wipe the surface with alcohol to clean it thoroughly before applying.

Another option is you can get some sail thread and sew your silicone repair tape in place.

I got some Ultra Black silicone gasket maker, and with a popsicle stick smeared it on the same pieces of silicone rescue tape, put one on each side of the cover.
I'm not going to touch it until tomorrow.

I only glanced at the video, but someone posted on the Facebook group either yesterday or today about how they patched their Z axis way cover after a few holes were burnt through it. I think they used some type of epoxy.
