    Unhappy FANUC 6M - version B -- error 930 system errnr

    Hi guys,

I need your advise. I have this Fanuc 6M it's a version B (memory is on a card that connect to the motherboard PCB).

I went trough the "the troubleshoot guide thread" here with no success.

http://www.cnczone.com/forums/fanuc/...larm-time.html (did all the step they did till the very last thread)

I even change the PCB (motherboard)

I still get the same error.

Any other ideas that may not have been put out ? Please I'm open to suggestions.

    Thank you kindly.

never seen that 'ERRNR' typo before... I'd guess (just guess) a flaky rom card or maybe just a corrupted bubble... 930 is a boot error, i'd lean towards ROM
look over the card for chips, corrosion, etc, might get lucky. if your bubble is bad, might be a good time to upgrade to a tulip card- hopefully 'memoryman' will chime in- he likely knows more about the old six than anyone on Earth - and can tell you about Tulip's memory upgrades too

Thanks for that plug, tc429! Never had that alarm before; it's a watchdog alarm. I would expect that to be a motherboard fault, but it was replaced.
ROM alarms are in the 99X range, BMU in the 90X range.
    No insight so far.

Well the Watchdog alarm is definitely ON. The only difference I see is that with the old motherboard it said 930 CPU interrupt and with this one 930 system errnr. (with the typo)
As for the EEPROM I've remove from their socket and reput them back in. Card seem in good condition no rust or bend leg or what not.
I don't think it could be related to the BMU as in the manual they are in the 90X range like memoryman man said.

The watchdog alarm can be generated by software or hardware. I suspect the ROM board. They are very cheap on Ebay.

You can check the hardware when power ON with close checkpoint WD (the position AA6) on GND. The error will disappear. If you want to exclude ROM memories check sum (errors 998,999) that it is necessary close *DIT (the position AI8) on GND. This jumper can use for debug of software.;-)
