    simultaneous od and id turnin

    Has anyone in here using a puma mx. ever tried to turn and bore a thin walled part at the same time. od of part is 5.6205 id is 5.4545 by 4.800 long then part tapers down to 5.2455(O.D) and 5.005 (I.D) taper is 4.555 long.part is 12.66 long. tolerance on id and od is +-.0005.

    It can be done and isn't too tough. Simultaneous control is a feature of the twin path system that machine has. Fanuc 31 or 18?

    OK. The 18i can do it.
    It can also Cross paths.
