Mesa vs Ethernet Smooth stepper Vs C11/C13 Board

I was wondering if someone would be able to tell me the pros/cons of each i will be using this on a G0602 converion (and depending on the benefit i may swap out my g0704 C13 i think board) i am indifferent on running Mach3, LinuxCNC or Pathpilot thank you

the mill will be running either a 3 phase baldor, or a 1.8kW ac cervo,

the lathe will be running a 3 phase 1.5 hp motor

i cannot chose between the mesa card and the ethernetsmoothstepper (warp9),

also how do the digital drivers from Stepper Motor |CNC Router | Laser Machine | 3D Printers For Sale Stepper Motor | Stepper Motor Driver | CNC Router | Laser Machine | 3D Printers For Sale compare to the geckodrive ?

I would advise you to do your own research on these topics, there's a ton of information already out there that can help you that is available with a simple search.

Ess is mach 3 or 4, mesa is linuxcnc/pp 2 different systems.

just to be a pain look at pokey's 57cnc what is mach3 or 4

The gecko drivers are very robust I have a G540 7 years old and 6 G213v 5 years old never missed a beat. I know some who has 1 of the first G540 ever made it still works you can use these with mach3 or 4 linuxcnc/pp

Do you want to run Windows, or Linux?

Another Windows option is UCCNC with one of their motion controllers, which is arguably better than Mach3.

CNC Drive's motion controllers also work with Mach3, and soon with Mach4. And imo, their Mach plugin support is much better than Warp 9's.

thanks for the reply guys, i think i read it wrong where i thought that the ethernet smoothstepper works with linux cnc.

i was also wondering if the cnc lathe part of mach3 actuall works now, i got the impression that it wasnt that good to use, thats why i was leaning towards using linux cnc, that way i would only need to "learn" one program for both my mill and lathe.

currently my mill uses Mach3, but im indifferent to learning new things

Mach3 development stopped about 5 years ago. Yes, it has issues, but people do use it.
