I just bought a Universal Systems X30 with a 50 watt laser. The laser was replaced in 2013. I was using CoralDraw X6
I am trying to engrave this image

When I engrave it the black back ground does not engrave I have tried it on wood and acrylic

Here is the what it looks like on wood this engraved a little on the top but then stopped. I used these setting to engrave it Power 100% Speed 20% and 500 DPI

Here is what it looks like on the acrylic this engraved the whole box but was light and dark. I used these setting to engrave it Power 40% Speed 20% and 500 DPI

Am I doing something wrong or do you think the laser is on the way out.

For acrylic , power is too high , try to use 300mm/s speed and 15-20 power ,400 -450DPI is OK
For wood ,try lower DPI too .

Yes I sure did. I just found that one of the fans are not working on the power supply just ordered two new ones. Maybe the unit is running hot ?
