what material are you making it from?

I'm a little worries about the sides of your x-axis. it looks quit high but small (it isn't stiff enough I think)

[edit] forget the question, assumed some things wrong[/edit]

your design looks ok, but why don't you use a standard (proven) design?

i think it's great that you arent using a standard design. keep going, you are going to run into problems but thats really the best way to learn.

i found that taking parts and pieces from other designs out there- you can build your machine how you think it would work the best.

    Gery,

It looks like you a planning to use brass or bronze gibs on aluminum rails. Is that what I am seeing?

Looks great. I just have one question:
Why is your X stepper inside instead of outside your end beam? Would you slightly increase working area by flipping it to the outside?

    Gery,

Aren't you worried about wear on the aluminum?

    hi alan,

no, because the brass has one excelent friction coefficient...and the weight
total on this axe is 1.3 kg
