I have the largist high Z machine and want top turn it inot a 5 axis machine fo machining blue foam and Ice Sculptures. Has anyone ever added extra axis to these machines and did you over come the controller side?

I had only heard of one company doing anything more than 3-axes for ice. I notice you posted this awhile ago. Did you have any luck with your 5 axis machine?
bill glenn, the man who built my machine showed me some photos of some ice carvers he built, i worked in the hotel industry some years ago and did some ice carving by hand in HRTA program at usc.
i am sure he could build you whatever you want

I appreciate the info---i checked the mastercam website..they look like solid machines...but i'm currently looking to get in on a lower budget even if i have to use smaller steppers and a slower feed rate to start. It's good info to note though as previously i only knew of 3 other parties building CNC's specifically for ice. The main trouble with ice is the question of whether to put the CNC in the freezer or out?
i do not have the photo on this computer but the machine i saw stood verticle and some were built for hotels, the machines and prices you saw are for tabl machines devoted to woodworking
