What's a good grease for a low speed spindle which isn't going to see over 2,000 RPM? It uses 7206 angular contact ball bearings with a medium/heavy preload.

If Kluber NBU 15 is the stuff to use, I'll use it, but I'd hate to waste money if it's not needed.

Absolutely ANYTHING! For small CNC machines, the type of grease is incredibly non-critical.

Is there anything in particular you'd recommend? I have Lucas Red and Tacky and Bel Ray Marine on hand.

The thickness and melt point does mater.

For our mills the standard grease melts out too easy and you will run dry fairly fast with standard grease. This stuff is $15 a tube from McMaster and one grease packing last about a year under high use. A tube will last a lifetime of re filling your spindle.

I re add through the slot in the side of the quill.
