i am having a issue supplying my CNC mill with power when ever it does a spindle ramp up, this has been a on going issue. i have an american rotary adx40 phase converter that was recommended for this machine. this is a residential shop in my garage and am running a hurco bcm 4020 (20 HP). i contacted my power supply company and told them what i was running and that the current supply was not enough (the machine would fault out at a spindle ramp up) so they installed primary lines up to my shop and put a transformer right out side my shop. now the machine will run but still when the spindle ramps up i can tell the current will not hold. it ended up causing a power surge and smoking part of the phase converter. so now my question is, is there any kind of capacitor system i can add in to hold power for the spindle start ups? or do i have a machine that i can not use?
