It can be done. I have been running my rapids at 400 ipm for months now. The motors do not even get very warm after a full day. I changed the max rapid speed in the parameters and then I needed to change another number for the x y and z parameters by an equal proportion. I dont remember exactly which one it was but it was a very large number to start with. I decided to look into this further when the tm-1p came out with the 400 ipm. A haas tech told me that the servos and screws were the same as on the tm-1 so I looked up the servo p/n on yaskawa electric's website. They had the specs for the motors on the tm-1 on their site. From what I gathered, haas had the motors set to run at the typical run speed for these motors but the max speed they are rated for is double the speed on the TM-1. I think that it was 1500 RPM on the stock setting and 3000 RPM for the Max. There are more posts thru the haas forum with information on this.
sorry for the double post
I run my TM-1 (2005) for about 1 year with 10.2m/min and 6k RPM spindle , about 8-16hours per day at maximum spindle speed.
I have a TM-2 and yes they are slooowww. I would also like to speed mine up also, what perameters do you change for max paid and max rpm?
max rapid and rpm sorry
