CL-203 X Axis needs alignment to the spindle.

When I set-up a flat disc in the chuck and tram it in to zero on the indicator, the disc is not perpendicular to the X axis. It is cutting a convex part 0.004" high in the center of the part. Is there a best way to align the X axis or move the spindle for Mori Seiki lathes?

    • Spin the chuck the indicator reads zero on the flat plate.
    • Move the X axis into the center and the indicator climbs from 0.000 to 0.004"

Have you performed a headstock alignment test by turning a bar over 150mm and checking it reads the same either end

I'm having the same problem, but mine is not headstock alignment. I'm use my dial indicator on a magnetic base and tramming the axis and it's off by about as much as yours.

Did you solve your problem? If so what did you do?
