Problem making paths in Freemill (Visual Mill)

    Hello.
I'm trying to make g-code using Freemill on a step-file.
I've made the step-file in FreeCAD.

Step 1: I load the file into Freemill.
Step 2: Z is upwards so the coordinate system is ok.
Step 3: I'm not interested in the boundaries at this time, only the pocket in the middle so I set 0 offset.
Step 4: The pocket is 20mm deep so a 30mm flute tool should be ok?
Step 5: I guess the speeds really don't matter at this point as this is just to generate the path.
Step 6: Toolpath display. Stepover is 1mm in horizontal direction, but in Z direction it takes all in one cut. How can I change this?
Step 7: I can't see anything useful here, can you?
Step 8: Loaded the output file into UCCNC to see how it turned out.

Is it possible to make this work in Freemill?
If not, are there some free CAM programs that can do things like this?
