Bridgeport Series 1 Heidenhain TNC 145

Bridgeport Series 1 Heidenhain TNC 145
I purchased a used CNC Mill - Bridgeport Series 1 Heidenhain TNC 145 control.
This is my second cnc machine and I do not have much experience of operating CNC machines. The main purpose of this machine is to get hands on experience in milling cnc machining.
I have traid o change the buffer battery and i have lost all the information does any one know how to program it ??
I will appreciate the input of members about their experience and advice and also regarding the various CAM programs I should start exploring.
you can send me the information
to my mail ( [email protected] )

    re

is it an interact or a r2c3?

I have a parameter set that will run the r2c3 right out of the box. Probably the interact, but there might be small differences

    re

I'll get the file together tomorrow when I am in the office

One thing that I know is different is the homing direction in y

If you down load the control tech manuals from heidenhain.com, you will have the parameter definitions

    re

attached is a parameter list for a bridgeport heidenhain r2c3. parameters 33 and 34 are almost certainly wrong, and all axis travel parameters [31-36] are suspect. THIS WILL TRASH YOUR MACHINE.

Get the manual and find out which is the direction when running over reference marks, as that differs on my r2c3 vs my interact.

Once you can get it homed, you can slowly move it in every direction to see if it stops too early [visual x axis limit] or not soon enough[emo, flashing error]

once you initially enter the parameters, you can edit them by being in metric mode, manual mode, type 95148, enter. delete block gets you out

    be careful

    re

Maybe it is an old software rev that only has that many parameters?

the x and y axis issue is the travel limit parameters I told you about

I will try to get my interact parameters tomorrow, that computer died today

    re

interact 151 parameters, 2 different sets

parameters 44 to 49 appear to be the relevant axis limit parameters

the rest of the list IS NOT relevant to you machine

I found a parameter list from 1983 and I believe it is a TNC145. With descriptions of what each parameter is.

    re

appears to be r2c3 rather than interact, so the descriptions would match the first set that I posted

it only works in handwheel mode, the little button with the, errr handwheel symbol on it. there might be a parameter for handwheel present/absent

    handwheel

doesn't appear to be a parameter, maybe you have the feed set very low. enter the number 2 while in handwheel mode, should move ok

    Thanks Gus.

I've already entered the number 2 and it still doesn't work. I decided to open the handwheel backcover and I've noticed that the glass disk has no black stripes on it. I think that it should look like an encoder disk, but its clean. I think that someone before me had already opened and cleaned it by mistake. Or can it just disappear? Gus, have you already opened one? Do you have any idea of how it should look like in the inside? If you do, do have any clue about how the black stripes should look like?
    Any help will be good.

    Thanks,

    Hi Gus.

Do you have any example or any sample program for the Bridgeport Series 1 Heidenhain TNC 145 that I can explore and to help me see how it works.
    Thanks,

Look up above. There are 2 versions. One with 72 parameters, one with 78. It depends on the version of software inside the control. The PC and NC numbers.
Some parameters are machine specific, such as backlash and travel from the home switches.
