    fanuc 31i b alarm sv0417 ill dig servo parameters x, y, z

ok here is the story awea model 4025z/ fanuc 31i b serial 1222212,
last week the spindle burned up. after rebuilding the spindle and reinstalling, i had to orientate the spindle using param 4077, after restarting alarm sv0417 ill dig servo parameters all 3 axis.
went to diagnostics it sent me to 352 code 9053. we needed to run in the spindle so i went to param 1815 /it read 00000010 bit 4 and 5 vanished, so i changed bit 1 to 0 and set bit 4 and 5 to 1. alarm went away and i could run in the spindle in. when i tried to test the atc it stopped above the tool, then when i tried to run all 3 axis they all software over traveled. i thought big deal i'll just restart and do the cancel and p thing. well it homed just fine, but all 3 axis still would only travel 50% until they soft OT. i thought WTF. tried again after C + P to disable the over travel and it did, until after i homed it same problem. . i know i can go to 1320 or 1322 i dont recall right now, but i can set the distance to -999999.999 but then i noticed that all axis are reading inches incorrectly, and you cant run a program like that. . -x for instance will travel 24.000 but reads 48.000 . it actually only travels %50. its the same on all 3 axis. after cancel and p i can take them all to the hard stops but after i rehome its still.counts incorrectly . im sure some one accidentally hit a 0 somewhere it could of had a memory error. but i doubt that !. OK now my question, does any one how the correct parameters the distance to correct the count back to the actual limits? so if it moves a inch it reads a inch. oh it only software overtravels in -. + will home to 0.000 but it still counts distance wrong. + wont over travel
i know this is along shot as i am a millwright and not a controls guy. so any help will be appreciated
    thanks mike

Parameter 1815 bit 1 tells the control your axes have scales. That needs to be on for the axes with scales, or the control will not move properly.
