Tormach has been HORRIBLE to try and get any replacement parts from.
1 month + after ordering and paying for the items before they ship.
Not sure if they are ordering from China AFTER we place the order
Needing to find something better

What do you need?
There are, I believe, three authorized dealers in the US, and some in other countries. You can check Tormach's website under "where to buy" for their contact info.
Having said that, I don't know if they stock replacement parts, or just machines and accessories.
Terry
I've usually been able to get replacement parts within a day or two, a week at the most if they were temporarily out out of stock. It probably depends a lot on what you need.
Ordered
way covers
spindle bearings
Y axis driver
ALL should be inventory parts, ALL took from 3 weeks to 6-7 weeks to be delivered.
Totally unacceptable if you ask me.
Bearings are bearings, millions of places to find those.
Leadshine builds most of the motor drives that I have scene in the Tormach mills, available many places.
The way covers could be the difficult item to find unless you roll-your-own.

First It was - We're movin to a new warehouse. they will ship within 3-4 days. 2 weeks later still hadn't shipped.
Same excuse 2 months later.
Haven't even bothered asking the 3rd time around.
I WILL NOT be purchasing another machine, or parts from them again if I can help it.
Well, I just ordered something else from Tormach today, after COB. I'll report back here on how this order goes.
Try ordering it through one of their distributors.
I use Santa Cruz Electronics. Same price, (sometimes) cheaper shipping, and you can let John keep bugging Tormach until your parts arrive.
Some stuff he stocks.

How would it be faster to have him order - they ship to him - he ships to me??
Hi guys, I just wanted to share my experience with Tormach.
My machines serial number is 060, so Ive been with Tormach since the start.
I cant say enough good things about there service.
Over the years ve had various components die ( mostly leadshine drivers ) and every single time, they had them in stock and I was back up and running within 2 days.
Recently Ive had a few frustrating experiences, but even then, Tormach did there best to fix things right away.
For example: I had my y axis driver die a few weeks ago. They sent me a new one right away, I got it in 2 days, but unfortunately is was a dud.
These things happen with delicate electronics.
I called Tormach right away, and within a few minutes they had another driver packed up and sent off to me, and I got it the next day.
2 days ago, I had my x axis driver die, but its a few years old and they don't last forever.
Ive ordered 2 so I have a backup, and they will be here tomorrow.
After ordering my new drivers, upon doing some more testing on my machine, I figured out that my x axis motor had died aswell.
I called Tormach this morning, and they quickly got my new motor packed up with my 2 new drivers.....Ill have everything tomorrow.
I cant say enough about Ann, John, Rebecca, and all the other staff that are super nice a fun to deal with when your stressed out about a machine
that's down.
I know that %#$& happens, but whenever I read these whiny long winded complaints I have to wonder.....was your experience REALLY that bad, or is it just really easy to whine thru your keyboard.
Tormach is enabling us all to pursue our dreams.
I'm a huge fan of all they do.
Dennis
LOL whiney -long winded,
Not sure you know what either of those words mean
I'm pretty sure I know what those words mean. I do speak English
I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience. It does happen from time to time.
But I've never had any issues and there's a lot people reading these posts that could be turned off and think that tormach is not a competent company.
Tormach has always had outstanding service. They've gone thru some growing pains for sure. Best of luck tooth and nail.

And I doubt they would ship to him first. Most likely to the end customer directly. Drop shipping.
I have had nothing but the best service from them. I certainly know that things can happen to any company at any time that may impact supply and demand for spares or replacements.
I do try and keep a few critical parts on hand for all my machines, but short of stocking a second machine for each one, I just buy an extra if something does have to be repaired and use a little logic as to what might be more of a consumable part over the machines life span.
Sometimes I get it right too.
