    Broken probe

    Today we had a tool changer error. unfortunately the 3R Measuring probe was in the holder.My mistake, I switch to manual and had the machine retract the tool changer.
    the tool fell into the tank snapping of the end. The end easily screws off .I have ordered a new probe end from EDM Supplier - electrodes , graphite , wire, oil and accessories | Belmont EDM .

    I hope the probe housing is not damaged. Is there a method to re-calibrate these tools with out sending back to 3R ?

    Funny to reply to my own thread. But I found a PDF on renishaw web page. It gives clear instructions. for those that have had my experience in breaking a accurate tool ;(
