Looking to buy a 3x4 CNC - What would YOU get? - Spend my Money

    Hey all...

    Im looking to buy a 36 x 48 Table.
Currently, I am considering a Camaster II SR34 with all the bells & whistles they offer.
I have not sent in for a quote just yet being I plan for an early 2018 delivery.

My primary uses for the machine would be:

Signs - HDU/Wood/Aluminum etc ... yes I know the work area is small. I can work around that.
Woodworking doo-dads/Jigs and whatever else I think of will be made.

I request this size table being I feel thats about the most I could get to use
in a small garage. The footprint space I have available for the machine
is 80"l x 72"w. The SR34 specs show it will fit. It will share the room
    w/ a Felder K500s sliding table saw.

Looking to get the largest spindle avail for it. 3.0kw ??
    Nema 34 900oz motors
    2" gantry lift
    Misting system for Alum cutting
    Vacuum table

Ok, so those were some options from the PDF sheet.

    Now for my question:
Is there other companies out there that have a table size
of 3x4 that are better than Camaster or equiv?
    Within the -$20k range?
I'd like something with strength, power and to know I could get it done.

I just wish some companies would make a shorter version of
their machines for us folk. What also sucks is regular workdays
I use a Multicam 3000. No comparisan obviously.

If you were to buy a machine @ 3x4 and make it the strongest,
most powerful, what would you get? Just remember to keep me under $25k max
and within the size area as mentioned above.

    Thanks all!

Move up to a Panther or Cobra 4x4, if it'll fit. You can get a 4Kw spindle on a Panther.

Shop Sabre may make something similar.

You could build a serious machine with $20,000, if you wanted to go that route.

    Gerry,

I appreciate the 'upgrade' but I cannot go any larger.
The CM SR34 for now seems to be the best fit. I have
a sliding table saw that sliding from the door to the machine (SR34)
I will just be short of 2~5".
Oh wait there's more. My door opening is 59". The garage rollup was removed
and replaced with split double doors. I dont feel like doing a circus act with a
    machine to get in.

Yes, I do want a serious machine. For now Im not worried about this size, it's perfect for my home.
Anything larger I can do at my job on the 5x10.

Camaster wont budge to make a smaller 'custom' made 3x4 in those series.
Gonna try bugging them again to get a 3x4 Panther at least.

Not sure of Shop Sabre, but i'll give them a try.

Any other companies to look into?

    Thanks again for your reply!

There's really no market for small, heavy duty machines in the $20,000 range.

The Shop Sabre has ballscrews, which I'd prefer in a machine that size. You should be able to get a bigger spindle, and AC servos and still be in your price range.
Afaik, both the Shop Sabre and Camaster both use the WinCNC control.

I'm not aware of any other competitors to these two.
