Hey guys,
Pretty much just as the title says. I'm building my own CNC Machine. The plan is to hand cut parts from MDF then once I've built the machine, I'll use it to cut the parts more accurately for 18mm Marine Ply. The ends of my base however will be bigger than my CNC will be able to cut.
I figure I have 2 options. One is I get someone with a larger machine to cut them for me from the beginning. The second option is I hand cut them as I will with the other parts and then CNC cut them as 2 separate parts with a join in the centre.
I have drawing in DXF format at the moment and I am able to make them in to most formats as required. As I haven't yet built my own CNC router, I am very far from an expert at the software side of things but I am able to get a drawing to G-code stage that will run fine in CAMotics.
The 2 ends are 1200 x 300 and I have one piece on the gantry that's 1026 x 350.
If you are able to help, can you post a reply or send me a PM. I'm willing to travel anywhere within a couple of hour drive from Perth and can supply the Marine ply from Bunnings.
Thanks
