    RS232 connection issues to Milltronics Partner V

    Looking for a little help with a connection issue.
    I have a Partner V machine with a Cent. IV control, with a DNC box that was originally supplied on the machine.
    I'm trying to make a cable. DB9 on computer to DB25 on machine. The common combination of pins does not seem to work.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Please help I need to start making chips

    When all else fails use a DB9 to DB25 cable and a null modem connector. At least, that will get you up and running. Serial communications are a crap shoot on a Milltronics. sometimes they work and sometimes you have to fiddle around with them.

    I use a serial modem cable 9 pin to 25 pin, but I used to hook mine up with a
    straight cable with a Null modem adapter. Parameter #86 sets up the port.
    2320=110 baud, 2321=300 baud, 2322=600 baud, 2323=1200 baud. I think
    they may also be entered as 0000,0001,0002 and 0003. The last number sets
    the baud. I've never been able to go faster than 600 on my machine.

    regards,
    Ben

    I got the communications working, thanks for the help.

    I still need to find a mastercam post file for the Centurion 4 control.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    It sounds like you are very farmilair with this control.
