Re: Adjust backlash when rigid tapping with a rotary tool in lathe

    Hi,

Parameters for Rigid Tapping: 5200 - 5382, Fanuc Parameter Manual B-63530E.
    Download attachment for the pdf-manual.

If nothing works buy one of these, in my case it's a FAHRION ER25 collet with 8mm axial compensation:
    FAHRION 4285E-CET25-GB, cost +/- €85,-
    Attachment 364504

Use a 96-98% of the infeed and 100% for the reverse-feed.
Example M5x0.8, If G84 or G184 not working.
    ---------------------------
    G00 G90 X100. Z5.
    S1000 M24 ( live-tool - 1000rpm )
    G01 G98 Z-15. F776 ( 97% --- 0.97x(1000x0.8)=776 mm/min )
    M25 ( stop )
    G04X0.5 ( dwell )
    S1000 M23 ( live-tool - 1000 rpm )
    G01 G98 Z5. F800 ( 100% --- 1000x0.8=800 mm/min )
    ---------------------------
    Regards.
