Mastercam 2018 Machine Definition Menu Management

    Hello,

I installed MC 2018 and when I go to Machine > Mill > Manage List, the only machines that show up are default machines.

I opened my old version of MC 2017 and it shows as it should with multiple machines to choose from on all the machine types.

So I then looked in the CNC Machines folder in MC 2018 to be sure there were in fact more machines and there were several listed.

My question is why are they not showing up when I open the Machine Definition Menu Management? I did check the path within the "Current Machine Definition Directory" and that seems correct as well going to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Shared Mcam 2018\CNC Machines\ . It does this no matter which machine type you pick, so what link am I missing?

    Thanks,

    Dale

    - this folder is under the MC 2018 install, your original CNC Machines (2017) is in a different location

    - you need to setup your 2018 install & update your posts..... run the chook "Updatepost" to read the 2017 items & place the updated items in the correct MC2018 install areas
    - you then need to "manage" your machine listing, and verify that the control & posts are linked to the correct machines

Mastercam 2018 just comes with the default posts being the faunc. not like in the past years were there were other machines installed. Mastercam for 2018 has made this a separate install. They also are giving more machines then in the past nice collection to. you need to download that from the Mastercam site under downloads or get with your dealer.
(Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own and are not necessarily those of CNCzone and its management)

You have to install Mastercam 2018 post file after you installed Mastercam 2018, then they will show on manage list!
