    Fadal CNC control replacment

Power Automation | PC-based CNC Control, CNC System, Soft CNC

I came across this from MMS today.

I would like to know if any Fadal users have upgraded there machines to this control?

If so , what advantages have you seen in this upgrade?

    Thanks for any feed back.

    Gord

We upgraded one of our machines to a similar control made by Numatix and it has been nothing but a headache. it is hard to use and the only service they have is in 2000 miles away. Meanwhile our other two Fadals have been running no problem.

    This year there is

Calmotions 527F (Couple of the original Fadal guys sons, uses Ethernet instead of the back panel board for quick data between card $8000.00
NXGEN (Dave Decausin Jr. (The D's son in fadal) has a version of Flashcut for Fadal...replaces the entire control and pendant) $15,000.00
Power Automation (Replaces the entire control and pendant) $17,000.00

    All look very promising.
We have had good luck with our Fadals milling mostly soft steel and aluminum up to 5 axis. We are always looking for spare parts If you have a broken down Fadal give a shout.

Numatix it appears was a version of the original Rubicon that was developed by a software engineer that is long dead. At some point there was Cincinnati CNCs that had the revolution control that was another version of that control. Its sad to see a fadal get retrofitted and then not work. You know the old control as slow as it is ....is super reliable.
