In Autodesk CAM there is no parameter for "tool engagement angle" specifically. Instead the adaptive tool paths use the "step over" value, which is then converted internally to an engagement angle. The engagement angle can be calculated from the step over with some math.
HSM Machining > Calculating Tool Engagement Angle, Radial Depth of Cut
C|
Is there a app for android that calculates it ?
depth of cut = r - (cos{engagement angle} x r)
in language: The depth of cut is the radius of your cutter MINUS (the cosine of your desired engagement angle times the radius of your cutter)
e.g. what is the depth of cut for 45° engagement angle on a .500" end mill?
.25 - (cos 45° x .25) = .073"
Of course it's in the corners where things get more interesting!
