    Re: spoil board help!

I would recommend a flycutter with insert tooling as well. And I wouldn't laminate at all for spoilboard material. You'll defeat the purpose of having a vacuum for hold down. Just make sure you never use medex or hdm2. Industrial grade mdf is what what you want for a spoilboard. We use 3/4, and surface twice on each when loading a fresh sheet, which makes it 0.71 to start. Surfacing on both faces ensures the best vacuum as the top.01-.02" layer has a high concentration of glue. Good luck man.

    Re: spoil board help!

Don't mean to hijack the thread. I do have a spoilboard related question. I finally finished leveling and tramming my Pro2448 (V-Con Rails). I followed the CNCRP video below.
Everything looked pretty square to me, but when I surfaced the spoilboard, there seems to be a bit of a high spot right in the middle of the board in X. Not much, but I can rock a flat edge ruler
side to side. See exaggerated image below.

Any ideas what could cause this? Ive made sure the X-Rail V-bearings and all bolts are adjusted right and everything is tight.

The rails on your gantry aren't straight, or the bearings are not tight. Put a straightedge on the rails first.

Will take a look at those again.
