Question MV-40E Z-Axis will not go up.

    Hello,

The Z-Axis on a Mori MV-40E we have will not go up.
It will go down just fine. The brake is functioning correctly. It does go up a couple hundredths (using the hand-wheel) and I can hear the drive's whining increasing before it drops out. Getting alarms 410, 412, & 413.
Thinking of sending out the drive for repair. Wondering what the likelihood it is the motor.

Anyone have other thoughts or experiences?

    TIA.

Hi I'm new here and just found this! I'm sure you've fixed it already but my first suspicion would be the brake even though you said it was working, especially if that machine has no counterbalance! Did you rule it out because it had voltage applied to release? It could still be mechanically locked & overpowered with gravity only!

I'm surprised there's so many threads that don't get a response! I'm a CNC technician looking for a community where I can help others while getting help myself when needed so do you know of any other similar forums?

    Solved!
It was the servo amplifier. Go figure. Sent it out for repair and viola! It is working again.
