How Plastic Injection Moulding Design Work?
Hi.....you granulate some plastic of your choice and push it down a pipe with a spiral worm feeder like a meat mincer.
At the bottom end of the pipe the plastic is melted by an element that surrounds the pipe and the incoming unmelted plastic acts like a piston to force the melted plastic into the mold.......more I cannot tell you as I've only worked on those machines and never operated one.
Ian.
That's how Injection Molding works. Not Design FOR injection molding.
What I know is that you need to have at least a small draft angle (no vertical walls) to be release the part of them mold, make use of camfers and be careful about warping.
