    TTS Holders

One of these holders has been through the ATC more than the other, want to venture a guess which one it is.

How many times has that tool been put in and out of the spindle?

Maybe you are just proving that the shanks should be fully tapered so they center easier? :P

I mean, that clearly shows how much misalignment is happening with every tool change.

    Lots!!

ATC is likely not that bad. Manual changes likely cause most of the wear.

    Re: TTS Holders

I have TTS holders I've used for near 10 years. I have one set I've used for ATC torture testing, that set having done, literally, many, many tens of thousands of toolchanges. Not one of them has anything even approaching that kind of wear. In fact, the shanks show no visible wear at all.

That shank wasn't properly hardened. It was soft to wear in such a manor. Knock off, of maybe made on Friday... Fridays in China make for solf Chinesium.

Excellent point! All of mine are hard as he11! In fact the Darkon ones are even harder than the genuine Tormach ones.
