Hey guys. I got one for you.. kind of a throw up question.

I harvested 2 of these motors, and I wanted to hook them up to make some automation tools at the house, however I have zero wiring diagrams to go with them, and have no clue what kind of controller to hook them up to. Was hoping to get a little help here, maybe someone might recognize them. My friend seems to think they're Servos..hence the post here.

This is one of the motors, and the wiring that comes with it. I assume that the pink white and black are Hot, common and ground, then the pair of blue and pair of yellow are induction coils to get it to spin a certain way after stop, to make it a bi-directional motor. I have no idea, I'm guessing at this point.

Would anyone know of a controller that might work with this setup, or have any experience with one of these motors? Any help would be appreciated. And if you speak and/or read chinese, the website is www.otg.cc

That looks like some kind of obscure Chinese AC servo motor. These things are hard to figure out without any documentation. Unless you can "harvest" a driver for it, I'd suggest looking for some other kind of motor to run your automation projects.

After a little more digging around, I've been told that this is all I need to control the motor, but there seems to be 2 more pair of wires.. I think one will work with this, but there are 2.. Not sure what they all do. Still looking for answers. BTW, I have looked for controllers for this motor, and i'm not able to find any on any of the old hardware.

I'm not sure those are servo motors at all. I have never seen a servo motor with a label that says 25uF/250Vac on it. That would indicate a single phase, possibly a 2 speed based on the the RPM labeling. However, the RPM label might be the motor RPM and the gearbox RPM.

The two yellow wires might be for the thermal switch.

I agree, that appears to be an induction motor.
Check the resistance across all leads and see if two windings are identical, also short the wires together that have continuity between them and see if spinning the motor shaft provides resistance to being spun (PM motor) if no appreciable resistance then its a 120vac induction type.

Yes, it ends up being an induction motor..
I'm wondering if the 2 leads (marked yellow and blue in the last post) are induction coils to get it to spin in a certain direction, or for feedback to figure out speed/etc.

I'm going to have to find an AC Motor forum somewhere I think.

Measure the resistance across the yellow leads.
Generally you can decipher the connections from measuring the windings.
