Im having a issue where when i zero my z and start to cut after about 10 mins in the cut the z axis has moved higher than when it was originally zeroed.

can anyone point me in the right direction on how to trouble shoot this?

Decrease your Z axis acceleration by 25%-50%, and see if that helps.

the longer the job carries on the more it goes out.

Ive also tested this without actually cutting into the material and i get the same results. Ill try decreasing acc and see what happens

I have tried reducing acceleration and it still does it.

Ive removed the spindle and ran the code without that attached and it still lifts.

I zero it run the job for one minute and then go back to zero and the high of the z has moved up.

Not sure what else to try any suggestions?

Did you try to change steps per unit? Does the spindle goes as high or as low you say to go?

With power not going to the z axis motor, can you move the axis by turning the ballscrew? Is it difficult?

Could be alignment issues, could be linear bearings issue etc.

I've sorted this now.

I swapped the stepper motors around and stepper drivers but I noted on aspire I was performing a pocket but using a profile tool path instead of a pocket. but which ever of the above seemed to fix the issue.
