This is the only one I can find in the entire country. https://denver.craigslist.org/tls/d/...336382470.html
EBay comes up empty. As does other searches. Might be time for a road trip.

I was thinking about that machine. I live couple hours away and it looked clean, setup right and well taken care of. The price he was asking, I thought was good but I didnt have that much cash.
I do have a trailer built just to pick one up and the reason I dont have money for the tool right now!
Don't know what it is about the Denver area and Slant Pros. However, he's firm on the price so the math did not work for me to fly out, rent a Uhaul and then drive all the way back across the US.

Fly out?
I picked up a Hardinge CNC lathe a couple weeks ago. I pulled a trailer down to Oklahoma, picked up the machine, and hauled it back home. 10,000 lb of machine and a 96 hour round trip, 3400 miles.
If you're not married to a Tormach, there are other similar options. Some of them close to you.

Here's one in Florida

And there a number of Hardinge lathes around.

Oh, now that's just funny.... I just sold an Emco PC Turn 105 that I bought from those guys in FL.

Emco - where there is virtually no user base (for the lathe) - parts for the machine are super expensive ($375 just for the jaws in the chuck) - has to run in a Windows 98 config - oh, and virtually no tech support!
Yep, that is not the path for me.
However, thanks for pointing me in a direction!

I'll swap you my Slant Pro for a Haas chucker lathe.

I do own a Tormach PCNC1100 series 3 for many years now, I love it for what I do, but eventually will need a larger work envelope and more rpm and more hp.

While I would certainly not refuse a newer Haas lathe, I don't think I would actually buy one. The Tormach Slant Pro is absolute overkill for our needs.
I was using ours a little this morning and the carbide jaws in our puller have dulled. I would never have thought I would see that pulling brass aluminum and Delrin. The search for new ones is on.

TL-1 is $24,000

they run on either single phase or 3 phase.
Oh, there is a whole slew of options needed to do anything with that.
It would jump to $40K before you know it.

I don't doubt that at all, but its stuff u can upgrade as you go along and you would end up with a machine with allot more hp and room to grow and capacity for larger parts.
unless you are doing very high volume parts of the same thing, investing in a machine that's more versatile would open allot of doors. that's the way I got to look at my investments.
I don't regret buying my pcnc1100, i've learned a tremendous amount with it, but I also quickly learned more work envelope and more hp would have been better.
Agreed.
The Slant pro did not have an auto collet closer and that was just about the first thing I did was design and install one. It was a big step up from my homemade lathe. The homemade one was getting the job done but I absolutely needed the automation of the collet closer and bar puller. Wasting way too much labor doing that by hand. To date I have still not installed the chuck on the Slant pro yet, but have it when I need it. We make small parts and lots of em. Worked out perfectly for us.
