Who wants to have a weekly chat?

I mentioned to Joe a few weeks ago about having a weekly chat. How many would be interested?

What would be a good day/time? I originally thought Sunday night at 9:00 eastern, but I also like possible Friday night, same time. (Friday I can stay up much later. )

I think it's best if we have a certain topic each week, to keep some type of order. Please post ideas for topics and we'll see if we can get this chat thing off the ground.

    Hi ger21,

I think it is a great idea. As for a topic to start you off; sees how you have posted here maybe a general chat about home building and see where it takes you for the next topic. It will let you know what are the most common topics for subsequent chats.

I like that idea. I'll be here next Friday to see....but any chance you can make it 8pm Eastern so the European's dont have to stay up all night? 8pm Eastern would be 1am here.......actually...maybe I'll just catch up on the chat the next day...we'll see....if Im up I'll be there.
I think a general topic would be good to start off, then people can suggest more detailed topics from that. If next week is 'Home Building' I can show what I have done so far on my new machine design, if its not finished, and people can throw out any ideas. L8rs.

Very interested! I'd be doing more listening that talking, but....

Sunday is better for me, but I'll try to be there when ever it is!

At one time I admined a music site that included chat that was used very little. So what we did was send Emails to the members a few days before that included a topic of the session and a time window for the event and a link to the chat. After the Email campain the chat came to be a unreplacable tool for the site.

I am not a big fan of FlashChat. I think that it refreshes far to slowly more than 2 people to have a conversation at once.

I too am interested in attending a CNCzone chat session, but not using FlashChat.

I think this is a great idea and I would definitely try to make it. Maybe you could have a night where all the new guys that are as lost as I am can come and learn from the experienced guys.

Not a whole lot of input here, but lets have a general DIY router chat Friday night at 8:00 or 9:00 Eastern.

Sounds good. I don't think you're going to find a time that suits everyone, atleast not at first. Better to just try it out and see what happens, modify later if needed. Hopefully a bunch of people are on at that time, I look forward to it.

I'm wondering.....Is there a chat room that is available all the time. I was just thinking that it may come in handy if someone is asking for help from someone. Maybe they could use it for a real time conversation instead of typing and refreshing. And then have certain nights, like the friday night, that have a certain topic?

Unfortunately guys I won't be able to join this Friday as I am going away for a long weekend (10th wedding anniversary), but I will be at future chats.
